Dining on a cosy terrace at the banks of the Meuse or in the romantic interior of a former warehouse? Welcome to restaurant Pakhoes! Here you will be treated to Franco-Belgian haute cuisine with a global touch. Head chef Guidy Wolfs, his wife Yvonne and their son Yves serve dishes for connoisseurs and bon vivants in their fine restaurant near the old Waterpoort in the heart of Maastricht.

Cooking and serving from the heart
Head chef Guidy Wolfs learned in the ins and outs of the culinary business in Belgium, a country with a rich culinary culture. Cook from the heart, serve from the heart, that’s the motto of the Wolfs family: ‘Welcome home. In a world that occasionally seems to have been turned upside down, where chaos sometimes looks ready to prevail and where the old certainties no longer seem so certain, we are an oasis of calm, a warm home with an easy-going informality and consistent quality. Eschewing the vicissitudes of the outside world, we have stayed true to ourselves. Familiar and recognisable, yet with a healthy receptiveness to new influences and ingredients.

These have come to us as a new, younger generation has joined the business. We will never change our motto, but from time to time we combine experience and innovation to add a new dimension. ‘Classic Franco-Belgian cuisine’ has become ‘Franco-Belgian cuisine with a global touch’. Classics that will never disappear from our menu, such as skate and cod, have been joined by contemporary dishes including pastas and some surprising vegetarian twists. All available as part of great set menus, as well as à la carte. In other words: there’s something for everyone. Young or old, regular guest or new customer, gourmet or bon vivant – our door is open to all. And at the end of the evening, after everyone has enjoyed a delicious meal, we open the door for our guests and wish them all a pleasant journey home…’
